Stat of the Week
Week 5 - Passing Efficiency
The STAT OF THE WEEK feature highlights the one stat contributing most points
to the victory.
Teams run hot and cold.
The graphic below pictures the hot'n cold variation around the
team average (dark blue line) for our key Passing Efficiency stat.
Our "Passing Efficiency" stat is defined by adding the INTERCPTION RETURN yards to QB SACK YARDS LOST.
(note: in the charts below a higher passing efficiency stat value equals WEAKER performance).
And when Packer QB Bret Favre faced the Saints last week he was the man in charge.
Favre was not intercepted nor sacked. By comparison the Saints lost 135 yards on INTs and QB dumps.
The difference in these two performances contributed 25.3 big points to the huge 49-point win. Ouch.
If you wee to take total yards given back on these inefficiencies then the Saints gave back 85% of all passing yards earned. The Saints need help.
