"The Number 1 Name for Statistical Analysis in Sports"

Seahawks at Packers

Our Killer Stat, Yards per Pass Attempt, will be overworked this weekend. In the Green Bay Packers game, it is the top stat in our stat graphic analysis.

With QB Brett Favre earning 7.26 yards per toss (sacks counted as unsuccessful attempts) the Pack has a 3.6 point advantage over the 'Hawks' pass D.

Favre's passing efficiency improved this season with Coach Mike McCarthy pressuring Favre to use his quick release on shorter routes. As a result the Packers were the league's most improved on pass INCOMPLETIONS. This improvement added a huge 7.65 PPG to their scoring differential.

The stat graphic below pictures the Packers pass offense facing the Seahawks' pass D on this key killer stat:

Yards per Pass Att

Green Bay Packers

2007 through Week 17

Opp Yds per Pass Att

Seattle Seahawks

2007 through Week 17

In the stat graphic above, the Packers won 10 of 11 games when their yards per toss performance was stronger than league average (light blue line).

The Seahawks, by comparison won only 1 game in 7 when their pass D performance was weaker than average.

The electronic hardware speaks: Brett Favre and the Packers' receiving corps to win by 4.
