All season long this space harped on the importance of the QB Sack while Cardinals, QB Kurt Warner, whose Golden Arm won the 1999 Super Bowl, this season boosted the Arizona passing efficiency stat profile up to champion's level.
However, the sack itself is slightly less important this season than last. QB McNabb is no kid any more. But he can still roll out and run. QB Warner, now 37 years old, is less able to scramble. And he knows NOT to take a sack but to throw the ball away.
And that's the rub. These incomplete passes are more important this season. Each pass thrown out of bounds now subtracts 1.6 PPG from a team's winning margin.
It is likely passing efficiency stats can spell the difference between winner and loser in this game. Watch for the roll outs and passes tossed OB. Ten incomplete passes and your team can win. But fifteen incomplete passes will kill the Cardinals' shot at the Super Bowl.
So count'em.
Using Goode's Winning Index, the electronic hardware projects the Eagles over the Cardinals by 2.
