Colts at Patriots

Last week in Denver the Indy Colts and QB Luck won the air battle. In playoff games, Luck looks tremendous. By comparison, and unless he was playing hurt, QB Peyton Manning looks ready to hang up his cleats. If so, it's been a great ride.

Now the Colts travel to New England to take on the Pats. Another great QB matchup. While the Patriots have stat advantages (near tie with Denver for strongest stat profile in the league) you can't discount what the Colts can do in the playoffs. Colts Yards per Pass Attempts in weekly chart below.

2014 through Week 17

Colts are near the league top (4th, behind DEN, GB, SEA) in Yards per Pass Attempt Difference (what the offense earns minus what the defense allows). This is the most important stat in the game. See our Killer Stat I feature for the full picture. It says the Colts are in the game and potential upset candidates. While the computer favors the Patriots by 9 (including a 3-point HFA), I'll go out on a limb and say I see this as much closer. I'll even go far out on the limb and say that I see Colt upset. Should be a helluva game.
