Colts at Bills

Congrats to Coach Sean McDermott, who's got his Bills in the playoffs again. They look like strong contenders with a solid 13-3 record. They meet the Colts in a good, competitive matchup.

Last season Bills did it with defense. This year the offense took flight with MVP-candidate QB Josh Allen throwing to WR Stefon Diggs, who becomes the first player to lead the league in catches and yards with a new team.

Bills are near league leaders on key stat, Yards per Pass Attempt, our Killer Stat-Ofense, where they rank 4th strongest. This stat is charted in the graph below. They usually performed well above league average (turquoise line). Their three loses came in games where they were below average. Keeping them below average is the task for the Colts pass D.

Indy Colts are a tough opponent. While they don't rack up the yards or points the Bills do, they are very good at taking care of the football--not giving up sacks or interceptions. Props to vet QB Philip Rivers. Avoiding mistakes keeps teams in games.

Our computer projects Bills over Colts by 5. Looks about right to me. Should be a good game with plenty of points scored in chilly, but not snowy, Buffalo.
