Texans at Steelers

In the Monday game of Wildcard Weekend, the Texans take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Both teams depend on defense to make up for somewhat modest offenses.

Of the two, the Texans are stronger on pass defense, ranking 3rd in the league, while Steelers come in league average at 16th. See both teams on the defensive side, Opponent Yards per Pass attempt, our Killer Stat, Defense.

Texans overall defense is notably stingy too as they lead the leauge in surrendering fewest total yards per game. Their performance is pictured in the graph below. Note that Houston D held opponents below league average in all but two games all season.

Both teams bring rather modest pass offense stats with Houston at no. 20 on our key pass offense stat, yards per pass attempt, and Steelers bit lower at 23. See Killer Stat, Offense.

Our computer likes the Steelers at home by 1.5 points after giving them 3 for the home field. Perhaps they can win this game if vet QB Aaron Rodgers has some tricks up his sleeve. I think that's a tall order vs the Texans and I'll take Houston in a close game.
