Eagles, the defending champs, stay at home to host the 49ers in Philly. Eagles are solid favorites but you can't
look past the 49ers. They're dangerous.
In this space we always seem to talk about teams coming out of tough divisions. The 49ers, from the powerful
NFC West, complied a remarkable 12-5 record. That's better than the Eagles going 11-6 against weaklings in the NFC East.
Pass offense is a bright spot for the 49ers ranking 5th, somewhat ahead of the Eagles with a just better-than-average 11th.
