Titans at Ravens

The Ravens have a hi-lo stat profile, league's toughest on rushing yards percent (54%) but weakest on first downs passing (7.6 per game, league lo). With the Ravens on offense and Coach Jeff Fisher's Titans on D, the Titans have a 3+ point advantage on passing efficiency stats.

The running game MAY belong to the Ravens. 2000-yard rusher Jamal Lewis is a horse. Coach Brian Billick's offense is built around RB Lewis. The run/pass balance is better than 13-to-10 (13 rushes for each 10 pass attempts).

Reason why the running game MAY NOT belong to Ravens? Coach Jeff Fisher's rush D leads the league on the defensive run/pass balance allowing opponents only 6 rushes per 10 passes.

Based on the teams' stat profiles it is an even game. If the two teams play to statistical form the Ravens are favoured over the Titans by 1 1/2 points.

Added note: Coach Brian Billick won the 2000 Super Bowl with a weak passing efficiency stat profile but a great D. Again this season the Ravens average only 5 yards per pass, Bud Goode's Killer Stat. If an opinion might be offered, watch the SHORT passing game. Ravens have not shown any long ball accuracy. It would be interesting to see running back Lewis catch a short shot in the flat...and meet Coach Fisher's pass D at scrim.

Moving the sticks with a ball control passing attack could overcome the Raven's major weakness.
