Super Bowl: Steelers vs Seahawks

Killer Stats I and II will be keys to Sunday's Super Bowl. Points per Pass (PPP) is our most important stat separating winners from losers. And the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks, tops in the AFC and NfC lead the league

The two strongest teams in the same game will make it a major Sunday War.

In last week's Conference Championship the Steelers were almost twice as strong as the Broncs earning a huge 1.13 points for each Roethlisberger toss. Denver's QB Jake Plummer earned only 0.6.

This PPP Killer Stat contributed 16.1 points to the 17-point Steeler victory over the Broncos. Is this stat reliable? Accurate? Right on. Being high on the list wins for you.

Early in the Super Bowl take a sip of Points per Pass. How are the two teams doing? As an example, when the Broncos fell behind early (only 9 running plays) they went to the air. And stayed there passing the stitches off the ball.

Typically the more you pass the more your fav team losses the ball to INTs. And Plummer's two INTs cost the Broncos 12.7 points.

The stat graphic below pictures the league's teams on a percentile scale of 100 steps. At the top the Steelers lead the league. They averaged 0.74 PPP during the season. But they came alive in the money game against Denver. Do strong teams hold back during the year saving some good stuff for their money game$? It's a good question.

So relative to the two Super Bowl contenders in the penthouse of the league where does your team stand on Points per Pass? And what are their prospects for next year?
