"The Number 1 Name for Statistical Analysis in Sports"

Chiefs at Texans

At first glance this looks one-sided: winner of 10 in-a-row facing a so-so team from the weakest division. But the stat profiles are nearly the same for both teams. Both have trouble passing. Houston manages a few more rushes per game. Both have holes in the D. KC looks slightly stronger but the homefield advantage goes to Houston.

This game could hinge on the running game. When Houston can stop the run, they can win (chart below). Chiefs don't run much, but had some success during their streak (chart below).

The fact is, this is likely to be a close, evenly-matched contest. While KC pencils out as slightly stronger in the computer's cpu, add in the homefield advantage and the computer calls it dead even. Could be an exciting game, turning on the final play. Worth watching.
