Chiefs at Ravens

Chiefs prevailed in a close one vs Bills and move on to face the Ravens in Baltimore. The KC defense has been doing the job.

The chart below shows just how effective the Chiefs' D is a denying ball control by their opponents.

2023 through Week 17

Opponent Rushes + Completions -- KC Chiefs

Ravens easily handled the Texans to move on. The Ravens' well-balanced team is quite like the Bill's only moreso. While the Bills were top 5 on offense and defense the Ravens rank 4 and 1 -- just a little bit better. Let's look at the key passing stat on both sides of the ball for each team. On offense, Chiefs come in with a 12th ranking. Ravens near the top at 4th. Killer Stat, Offense.

Both teams come in near the top on defense where KC ranks 3rd and Buffalo 1st. See both teams on the defensive side of our Killer Stat, (Yards per Pass attempt) chart. Killer Stat, Defense.

From what we've seen so far, it looks like we can expect QB playoff Mahomes to exceed his lackluster regular season stats. If so, this has to look like a close game. I'll pick the Ravens, but by just a nose. In contrast, our computer sees a big win for Baltimore, favoring Ravens by 9.5 including 3 for playing at home. It's tough to go against our computer, which is right more often than not. It's liked the Ravens all season and here they are in in the Conference Championship. I'm looking forward to a great game which comes down to the wire.
