Texans at Chiefs

Texans, at home, bested the Chargers and now face the Chiefs in KC. Statwise, Chiefs have not looked the powerhouse offensive giant they've been in recent years. Their strengths, this season, appear to be on defense. Chiefs are tough against the run, allowing only 98 yards to their opponents. See the chart below.

Most surprisingly, Chiefs do not rank high on Yards per Pass Attempt, our killer stat. They come in at 21st. Killer Stat, Offense. But the Texans fare even worse at rank 25.

On pass defense, both teams do well with Chiefs in the 9th spot and Texans, strong at 2nd. Find both teams on the defensive side of our Killer Stat, (Yards per Pass attempt) chart. Killer Stat, Defense. The key question to this game is: Which offense can overcome their opponents' strong defense?

We asked the same of the Chiefs last season as QB Mahomes numbers were not up to past years. But we all know what he can do in big games. Our computer likes Chiefs by 9. That's after giving KC 3 points for the home field. I can't go against the Chiefs and don't see them losing in an upset. It may be too close for comfort. They show the ability to always score just enough to win. It's a dangerous game though. One mistake and you're out.
