Texans at Patriots

After beating the Steelers, the Texans travel north again to take on the Patriots. The teams have opposite strengths, making for interesting, strength vs strength, offense-defense matchups.

The Texans are stronger on pass defense, ranking 3rd in the league, while Patriots come in near league average at 14th. See both teams on the defensive side, Opponent Yards per Pass attempt, our Killer Stat, Defense.

While the Texans bring rather modest pass offense stats, ranking no. 20 on our key pass offense stat, yards per pass attempt, Patriots come in as near league leaders, ranking 2nd. See Killer Stat, Offense.

Patriots don't waste downs with incompletes throwing it away a very thrifty 8.5 times per game, fewest in the league. It makes sense they also lead in passing completion percentage. See their season on Incomplete passes -- effective ball control.

      Incomplete Passes -- Patriots

Our computer picks the Patriots at home by 8.5 points after giving them 3 for the home field. For Houston to win, their defense will need a massively disruptive effort, putting the Patriots off their game. Houston D is strong, it's not impossible and could keep it close. I'm guessing Pats are for real and prevail, but we'll see.
