49ers at Seahawks
If you read last week's piece on 49ers - Eagles you know we were not at all surprised to see the 49ers come
out on top. Now they take on division rival, Seahawks.
We always seem to drone on about teams coming out of tough divisions. All three teams from the super strong NFC West
are into the Division Playoffs. This game will eliminate one of them. Last week we wrote about the 49ers' super power:
ball control as seen through our stat, Rushes + Pass Completions. You can easily find the link to that feature on the home page.
The Seahawks bring a rare combination of league-leading pass offense and near league-leading (no. 2) pass defense. Which is why our
Predict Report has them pegged as Super Bowl favorites. While both teams are strong on pass offense (SF at no. 5),
See
Killer Stat, Offense, Seattle has the edge on defense.
San Francisco sits near league bottom ranking at 25th.
See both teams on the defensive side of our Killer Stat, (Opponent Yards per Pass attempt) chart:
Killer Stat, Defense.
The 49ers will try to use their ball-control game to keep the Seahawks offense on the bench. The problem here is the strong
D they're facing. And when the Seahawks do get the ball, the problems really start for the 49er defense.
Seahawks are better equipped to take advantage than were the Eagles. Seahawks' ability to put up points (best in league) is shown below.
