Patriots at Bills

Conference rivals, Patriots and Bills, meet for the third time. This weekend, in Buffalo. The Bills bring the number one pass defense to the game as seen in our killer stat, defense chart of yards per pass attempt allowed. At only 5.09 yards allowed they stand out above the rest.

This stat is pictured in the graph below. Stronger than (below) league average in all but three games, the Bills put up a brick wall defense.

But the Patriots are not far behind, allowing just 5.73 yards per pass, they rate 4th in the league (see the killer stat, defense chart above). So it's strength against strength. This game may come down to rushing performances as both team defenses had their problems stopping the run. Both teams can run the ball effectively when they choose to. It will be interesting to see which Coach comes up with the winning game plan.

Our computer likes the Bills by just 4 and that's after getting 3 points for the home field. So it figures to be close. We've liked the Bills all year--during the season they frequently projected in the Super Bowl. I will side with the Bills and think they cover in a what might turn out to be a nail bitter.
