Rams at Buccaneers

Rams dispatched their division rivals, Cardinals and travel cross country to meet the Buccaneers who easily handled the Eagles. The Bucs stopped the Eagles ground game allowing only 95 yards on 17 attempts while Eagles passing game was never a threat. Rams dominated on both sides of the ball. The passing game earned 12.4 yards per attempt and the rushing game racked up 38 carries. Cards got just 3.4 and 18 on the same stats.

Not much stat differences between these two teams. Both have a solid passing offense and a stout pass D. Maybe Rams run the ball a bit better. Both have super QBs, Bucs' Brady being otherworldly. Compare their passing stat ranks in these two charts. yards per pass attempt, our killer offense and killer stat, defense -- yards per pass attempt allowed. Since the Bucs mainly throw, we'll chart their yards per pass attempt stat below. Stronger than league average or nearly so (4 just under) with only one clunker. They're seldom stopped.

2021 through Week 17

Yards per Pass Attempt - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Our computer likes the Bucs at home by 7 with 3 of that for home field. This looks closer to my eye and I'll take the Rams even though teams that play on the previous Monday are often a bit flat. Coming out of the competitive NFC West they've played big games all year. This should be a great one!
