Bengals at Chiefs

After getting by the Bills in Buffalo, the Bengals travel to KC to take on the Chiefs.

Have a look at the weekly Predict Report, which includes a stat matchup table at the bottom of the page. These are two pass-favoring teams with medium-low rushing attempts numbers. This game will be played in the air.

Here we see our key passing offense stat, killer stat, offense, where the Chiefs rank 2nd and Bengals rank 10th. Slight edge, Chiefs.

On pass defense, it's pretty even: killer stat, defense. Chiefs rank 10th and Bengals 12th. So an overall, offense minus defense, very slight advantage to KC.

Our computer likes the Chiefs at home by just 3. Since the Chiefs are getting 3 points for playing at home, our computer sees these two teams as perfectly matched equals. Injuries may contribute, who knows, with the most important being KC QB Mahommes suffering from a high ankle sprain. He's a gamer as we've all seen and he's sure to give it everything he's got. And that's as good as it gets. Bengals, after losing 3 of their first 5 have been played lights out to end the regular season, looking to run a current winning streak to 10. I chickened out last week calling the BUF-CIN game a toss up. I'll go out on a limb this time and side with the Bengals to extend their streak. But clearly, this could go either way and could come down to the final play of the game. Grab the snacks and drinks early because, quite likely, you won't want to get out of your seat.
