Chargers at Jaguars

This Saturday the sunny Florida weather sure beats that of soggy California. But will the Jacksonville Jags beat the L.A. Chargers in Jacksonville?

Again, we refer you to the weekly Predict Report which includes a stat matchup table at the bottom of the page. This table shows the similarity in stat profiles between the two clubs. The only noticeable difference is that the Jags run the ball a little better.

On yards per pass attempt, our killer stat, offense, Jags rank 12th and Chargers 15th.

On the other side of the ball, on pass defense, killer stat, defense, Chargers have a slight edge allowing 6.25 to 6.57 for the Jags, ranking 16th and 26th with lots of teams bunched up near the 6.5 figure.

Nothing really stands out in the stat figures to separate these teams. Our computer picks the Jags by 5.5 including 3 points for the home field, so it sees a pretty even contest. I see it as a pick 'em with the young quarterback that gets the hottest hand deciding the game. If they both get hot, it should be a barn burner. I like the over.
