Bengals at Chiefs
The Chiefs squeaked by the Bills at home and now take on the Bengals. Their matchup with the Bills was
about as even as a game can get. How do you separate one team from another? Statistically impossible.
How about toss a coin? I'll call it in the air.
Cincinnati got by the Titans in Tennessee. They're no pushover in this matchup. While the Bills - Chief matchup
pitted a strong pass D (Bills) against a strong pass offense (Chiefs) this game is different. We've got two
GREAT passing teams up against two modest pass defenses. Who can score the most points?
Cincy was just a whisker away from the league lead in yards per pass attempt, ranking 2nd to the 49ers.
See this
killer stat, offense
chart. KC comes in at no. 7 but that's after a slow start. They are playing better than that now.
The problem, and it's the same for both teams, comes on defense. The game will probably go to the team
that manages to slow down their opponent. I don't expect much in the way of "stopping."
Bengals and Chiefs rank 20th and 26th, respecively, on our
killer stat defense, yards per attempt allowed so expect both offenses to take charge.
In
past features we looked at Bengals yards per pass attempt stat.
We also looked at
the KC passing game and you can see how strongly
they finished the season.
If the league-leading Buffalo pass D couln't stop the Chiefs, what chance do the Bengals have?
To stay in this game Bengals passing offense will need to light up the scoreboard. Here's a chart
of KC on opponent yards per pass allowed. There's some hope for the Bengals.
